A remarkable site classified as a UNESCO world heritage site
Constructed so as to dominate the Guil and Durance valleys, the Mont-Dauphin fortress was built by Vauban at the end of the 17th century and completed in the 18th century. The citadel was a remarkable defensive structure and is one of the best preserved in the world. In 2008 it was listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.
